Helen didn’t have the heart to wake Glenn to tell him she didn’t believe in God. She lay staring at the bookshelves against the wall, at the titles without really seeing them. She wondered at how over thirty years had gone by without her knowing what she knew now: as if she had stepped into another dimension and had woken up to the other side.
