Stuck inside of LA with the La blues again

If I could have had one wish tonight it would be to sleep in my bed with my dogs by my side. BUT NO. Instead, I’m at the LAX Renaissance Hotel booked on a flight that leaves tomorrow morning and doesn’t arrive until late tomorrow afternoon in New Orleans.

United Airlines – the flight from SF to LA was delayed one hour – everyone said the plane would wait in LA – I arrived at 6:17 and it was scheduled to depart at 6:17 – it left from the adjacent gate – even though it would have delayed that flight 10 minutes to wait for those of us connecting. From that moment on, every United Airlines employee that I encountered was the rudest and arrogant of anybody I have dealt with in a very long time.

Seriously – by the time the attendant had told me to run to the gate – the next gate over – and the plane was gone – and the woman who was rebooking me said they could get me on a later flight – one that went from LAX to Charlotte and arrived in New Orleans at 10:30 tomorrow morning and since I was “unwilling” to take that flight then they wouldn’t pay for my accommodations to the woman at the baggage claim who told me it would be one hour for my bags to be brought down and when I called a hotel to get a room and she said “no cell phone usage by my computer it messes with the computer” – and I said, “honey, there is no way on earth that my cell phone is messing with your computer” and she took the pencil I was using to write down the hotel info and threw it in the garbage after I had set it down – to the point where I had just basically had all I could take and I took the stupid sign she put up in front of me that said NO CELL PHONE USAGE NEAR THIS DESK and tore it up and gave it to her till the time I got to my room and decided that I was not going down with them and ordered a bottle of Gloria Ferrer Blanc De Noir champagne and the room service woman whispered “Are you drinking this all by yourself?” and I said, “I’m celebrating my life, want to join me?” – she said, “Oh honey, I wish I could and you enjoy, you hear, you celebrate, because it is your life” – but life just has a way of sucking sometimes but hopefully this time tomorrow night there will be nothing sucking but me breathing the air at the LaLa and the bellies of my dogs.
