Went to Sound Cafe at 1PM today in the rain, and in the outrage of what we all feel over people getting murdered in their homes with their babies in their arms. There was a big turn out – mostly – let’s just say 99% white – why? – we need a majority – towards the end two young black boys came in – and I encouraged them to join the discussion – but what we are talking about is this – we are outraged – we love our city – and we need to figure out what to do because leadership is failing us – it is failing us in my work – it is failing us in my beloved city – it is failing us on a national level – it is failing on a global level.
G and I left the rally and headed to Bacchanal to say hi and happy new year to Chris – but he was sick – and by the way I got a cat – RUSTY – but he wouldn’t come and so I couldn’t get him to come home – and P came by to see G and the coonass was on the phone saying hi and Homeland Security joined us – and Paul was in from Japan – and Phil and Elizabeth were there – and so yes, there was a nice evening, and yes, we are going to make it, but we need the outrage to keep us in step and to help us go forward.
I’m going to get my cat – Rusty – and the Bean will be so happy since she loves her some cats – and I will do more to help this city.
