Enormous changes at the last minute

To add to the list of changes I experienced yesterday:

T was able to change her ticket so this summer we are flying together for our family vacation. She had planned to go two weeks ahead to visit Zagreb but has decided not to.

Walking up the stairs to my office I noticed the Crepe Myrtles in the back yard all have new green leaves on them. This just happened and possibly was precipitated by the warm weather we’ve had lately, although I recently read scientifically that ain’t so – leaves have a cycle where they are born, grow, and then die much like us. So new leaves were born and we associate that with spring. The older leaves died and we associate that with winter.

The rains came last night and changed the oaks trees for the better. They start with an orange-rust flower that looks like velvet clumps, which is what I’m allergic to, then the rains knocked that all off the trees and only bright green new leaves are there now. The velvet is now a brown matting on the ground. The air feels cleaner today.

Tin has learned how to say bzzzzzzzz, what a bee says. He walks all the way to City Park wanting/needing no help from mom except for the occasional curb or hold in the sidewalk that he needs to be spotted on.
