Think like a child

A friend of mine, Kim Frohsin, a very talented artist in San Francisco, told me one time when she was doing a series at a playground that she laid down on a bench and looked up at the clouds and that she was instantly hurled back into childhood. I vowed to look at a cloud myself one of these days. Yesterday, unable to focus on my growing to do list, I went downstairs and it was time for the nanny to leave and I scooped up Tin, went out to the bayou, laid him down in the clovers and looked up at the pale blue sky with him as we watched clouds drift by, ducks fly by, and even seagulls looping around overhead.

The sky is a wonderful place, it seems so vast and so out there, so not here, so beautiful. He was mesmerized by it and kicked up his feet and pointed at each thing we saw move across the pale backdrop of endless sky.
