I took our out of town guests for a bike ride to the lakefront this morning and then we cruised over and met friends at this little place by West End that makes the best egg and chorizo burritos. Yum. One of my friends who is a boat freak, was so taken by the lake, the marina, the boat culture here in New Orleans that he daydreamed of leaving California and moving here – apparently it has been cold in San Francisco lately.
There’s no getting around the fact that we live in paradise, between the bayou, the lake, the river – we are surrounded by natural beauty that is part of our daily experience. The other level is made up of homegrown music, food, people.
Yes, we are lucky ones.

I asked the girls what the name of the place is because it is not obvious. If you are headed to the West End park to the point, you pass Russell’s Marina Grill, then Wasabi, then this place which I think says it is a grocery store but they have a board outside saying Mexican food. The egg and chorizo burrito is yum yumj. Trying to get the name and will let you know.
