Getting into the groove of vacation

I always said I was not a vacationer, more like a traveler. I want to see the world and experience other places. But the truth is in my busy life, I need vacations and this is one. Albeit I am seeing Santa Fe, close up and personal, the truth is last night, rather than head out into the town again, we opted to sit by the wood fire and watch Almodovar’s Bad Education.

We ended up having to get the humidifier out as there was no moisture in the air to begin with and the fire drew our bodily fluids out and dried us up like prunes. But by the time we had gone to bed, I felt officially like we were on vacation.

This morning, when we woke without our zoo there was a feeling of relief and sadness, missing their sleepy routine of waking up in their respective posts and looking for breakfast with the same intensity that never seems to wane no matter what day it is.
