I was looking at some short films C dropped in my mailbox of Thanksgiving here at the LaLa – us all dressed as pilgrims and indians and the delicious food that was spread out on every surface and of course, the dancing that ensued.
Hanukkah rolled around and every night was a different group to light the menorah and celebrate the season with me.
Then I was looking at pics of Christmas eve of G and I at our pajama party singing and dancing with wigs and lingerie on and the Russian spies over with E joining in the revelry.
On Christmas morning before the sun came up, I woke G with her stocking and we began our Christmas day that began with a breakfast for friends and then ended with drop bys all day for soup and Champagne.
Then lo and behold New Year’s Eve was upon me and I was telling A today that I found myself in the midst of so many friends who had come over especially to spend the stroke of midnight with me at the LaLa in front of the bonfire (the one pictured below is from the Orleans bonfire that Alycia took) including my mother who was in bed at midnight but at least it was here at the LaLa in my presence.
I can’t begin to say in words how blessed I felt in 2007 to end the year on a high note – to be surrounded and loved by such a wonderful group of people – to have my mother with me in relatively good health – to be in my house on the bayou with my dogs Arlene and Loca – and to be born again unto this great mysterious world that has bestowed on me a charmed existence. Glory Glory Hallelujah – can I get an Amen?
