Last night, I went to meet a new friend at Swirl and to walk over to the Night Out Against Crime party on Esplanade. It’s an annual soire held at a neighbor’s house. I was wearing my wish box – a locket that my sister gave me many years ago. People ask about it all the time. T was asking about it and I said, that a year and a half ago when I was under a lot of duress, I wrote down and put in three wishes and that time passed, and a few months ago I had pulled out the locket to wear again and found them. I was surprised to see that all three had come true. I told her that I put a new list of wishes in the box but that I am very careful to put in broad brush wishes rather than specifics – as sometimes you are wishing for something that you are very very glad does not come true. They said there is a George Strait song that addressed that about being thankful for his wishes that didn’t come true.
