My good friend used to be an executive recruiter and she had a turnstile office – she said every major executive she found a job for outside of Louisiana was back within three years begging to return to New Orleans. There were people after Katrina who said I’m never coming back. And some who said the old New Orleans tag line – “I’ve got to get out of this hot, humid, small little city” – and now I’m starting to hear from some of them as they revisit – “I’m moving back.” “I can’t wait to get back home.”
Ah yes, we are a small little hot, humid city, and there is no place like home.
