My pecadillo grew

I’m listening to an audio book on my walks with the dogs called BE LOVE NOW, by Ram Dass and Rameshwar Das and in its beginnings it speaks of opening the heart. I always thought I had a big heart except when it’s not but that it was only one of my many pecadillos that would go unnoticed, but after walking this morning, and feeling the dry air that signals the approach of fall here in New Orleans, I realized that perhaps my greatest sin was not opening my heart all the way.

One of the many profound take aways that I got in therapy with E was that my capacity for profound love lived within me, not my relationships. This notion of love and the capacity to love being within and not in need of an other to generate is how this book begins.
