Spoonfed foolishness

I wonder how many kids in the world out there get to be spoonfed by a world class clarinetist? Evan Christopher stopped by last night to bring Tin a book – Eric Carlisle’s The Foolish Tortoise, we love Carlisle for his prose and his illustrations – he writes very sensuous and moving stories.

Tin was coming off a rough few days where a tooth he is cutting sparked fever, tantrums and an overall up and down roller coaster of emotion. He was happy to see Evan and Nina though and even happier when Evan sat at the keyboard and added music to the Turtle story (which prompted me to keep looking at the book to see if there was music written in it because Evan certainly was able to sync a story and improvised music with nary a blink).

To be young and have the world on a string, on a string, and be spoonfed a story of a turtle who foolishly leaves his shell behind to encounter adventure, but soon reclaims it and says goodnight, goodnight LaLa, goodnight music, goodnight foolishness.
