The bayou was a sight for sore eyes. Someone carved one of the pumpkins on my porch while I was gone but mom doesn’t know who did it. There was an email that someone had lost their chicken (“She is a Dominique–black and white striped, with a red cone. She responds to Violet or Marigold”). A long exhale………
We had reservations at the Slanted Door yesterday for lunch, but they called and canceled at the last minute because they had a plumbing problem that closed the whole restaurant (bad timing for them since it’s Fleet Week, and for us, since we are here), and so we went to Mijita in the Ferry Building and got fish tacos instead (yummy), and after the drawing session, late last night we went to Thep Phanom for…
We headed to Kim’s studio for a drawing session of T. I sat quietly in the background observing this extraordinary woman drawing my beautiful and gorgeous lover against a backdrop of sumptuousness color, dramatic lighting, and vocals provided by Dean and Britta – a rare experience now indelible in my mind.

T got a cherry…
Last night, went to Foreign Cinema with a friend and sat outside under a heat lamp drinking delicious Zinfandel (Green and Red) and eating yummy food and soaking up fabulous conversation – ahhh, the pulchritude otra vez.
Met a friend for a cocktail who had just been to her Canine Freestyle class with her maltipoo – that’s right.
Went to meet a friend at the Huntington for cocktails and then we headed to the Mission last night to hear Cheb i Sabbah spin records at Bollyhood on 19th Street. It was one of those only in San Francisco experiences, a great crowd (not the usual yuppie fare), and the music was awesome.
I walked towards Telegraph Hill yesterday morning and as I looked up at Coit Tower I remembered the time I walked up there at sunrise and got married and all the people who took the walk with us. I felt melancholy and sad because the young woman I was then is unrecognizable to me now.
