Waking up to the bay

Outside the window from the hotel is the blue blue bay and pelicans and seagulls and this morning the expansive farmer’s market that is unrivaled in most cities except maybe Venice and Istanbul – we went down to the bay and had our lattes and then I got a scrumptious piece of toasted Acme batard, with homemade cream cheese, smoked wild salmon, red red tomato and lavendar salt – BIG YUM. T got a cherry gallete from Healdsburg Bakery – double yum.

The city is so incredibly beautiful and yet it still gives me the same feeling – the abundance and excess almost make my skin crawl and the gap between the have and have nots is so incredibly huge that my heart always races when I think about it.
