One more delicious meal

We had reservations at the Slanted Door yesterday for lunch, but they called and canceled at the last minute because they had a plumbing problem that closed the whole restaurant (bad timing for them since it’s Fleet Week, and for us, since we are here), and so we went to Mijita in the Ferry Building and got fish tacos instead (yummy), and after the drawing session, late last night we went to Thep Phanom for a delicious dinner of lychee martinis, ginger beef, larb, and pud thai (yum beyond belief).

One of the things that was weird about living in the Bay Area is we used to say is how we never ran into anyone we knew in San Francisco whereas in New Orleans, you couldn’t turn a corner without seeing someone you knew. But at Thep, after we had been across the street having a Prohibition on tap, we walked in, P walked in who I hadn’t seen in ages, and he said “I can’t believe you are here, I was just speaking to D, who I haven’t seen in ages, who brought your name up just today!” Things do change – now the degrees of separation are getting smaller and smaller.
