Taking my Carrara down a notch or two

I went over to Pieri to select the Carrara that they are going to cut my slabs out of and they asked me if I wanted Calcutta Gold or Carrara and I said what is the difference. Well then I saw the difference – the Calcutta Gold is gorgeous – white as snow with occasional wide brush strokes of fur soft grey. The Carrara is greyish with spider veins of darker grey. However, the Calcutta is an additional $2000 just for the kitchen. I told the woman that she managed in just five minutes to take the ideal of the Carrara and notch it down.

She said once I had all of the Carrara slabs in place, I would forget about the Calcutta. So I picked out the marble and there wasn’t enough of the one I selected which had less Jackson Pollock spider veiny look and so they are going to get some more.

I’m hoping for mid Feb – I begged her before Mardi Gras and she said she would try her best.
