Yesterday was nirvana – well maybe not – but in these days it seemed like nirvana. First the weather was awesome! We had a good call on a stock at work and then rushed another report to the presses to get in under the wire. The LaLa was its usual self – demanding. But I guess what was nice or what made it like nirvana was standing on my porch and watching the Great Egrets glide by on top of the water and thinking about someone and presto, he drives up.
Then I went to Swirl to meet G and T – the GPLs were out in spades last night. E came by with his brother S and their entourage. I saw old neighbors from the Can – D&A – who have now moved to Lakeview and said they are the only house with lights on for blocks. I saw Wonder Woman – or at least a woman with a WW tee shirt – I tried to stake my claim to the title but she was having none of it because my hair is red – I said I am a new interpretation of Wonder Woman. L came by with her friend L – such a gorgeous creature.
From there we were headed to Cafe Minh but had a sudden change of heart when T said she wanted to go see M instead. So G and I and V in tow went back inside and hooked up with a bunch of girls from the GPL and headed to Wit’s Inn. There we watched them play pool and ate pizza and it seemed V was trying to weasel himself into making a night of it but we ditched him at his bike and G and I went on alone to Evangeline where karaoke was in full swing and we sashayed right onto the dance floor and started dancing and became karaoke groupies shouting – you rock! – to all the singers who got up there – and then little Miss Muffin got up and sang Sweet Caroline!
And why didn’t I take a photo of her – I woke up with 25 dark photos that V took at Wit’s Inn instead.
