Got an SOS call this morning from my contractor that the cabinets were 5″ too long because somewhere someone forgot the fillers in the dimensions, so they have to cut off the back of the sink cabinet which is the L part and that will give them the room they need. Also, the den bookcases were supposed to meet in a corner but instead they will just not because the window seat doesn’t fit in between them and I can’t figure the window seat out anyway. It’s all very strange even though the cabinets look good.
The call came when I was at Pilates and I had just found out that my favorite instructor is pregnant! She had been out sick last week. Another baby on the way – I love the way C instructs your body into challenging positions, so I hope she comes back after the baby is born – she’s become an addiction for me.
Anyway, K was getting ansy about the cabinets, which were manufactured by my ex-brother-in-law in So California – he wanted his phone number so I finally gave it up, but first called to warn C. Found out that C’s good friend passed – so sad – a young man (well young as me) and so I called K back and told him to leave C alone unless he absolutely had to speak with him.
Later, I was speaking to TL about countertops since L is redoing her kitchen uptown and trying to figure out what she wants – and he was speaking about someone who works for him who has been wacked out since the storm because it seems everyone she knows keeps passing. I told him my person is wacked out too. Everyone is.
So in between the minor annoyances like redoing your house and paying the bills and being wacked out are the big things like birth and dying – things that just kind of happen.
