After living in white walled apartments and houses, I’ve been messing around with colored walls for the LaLa and right now the room that is holding my fascination is the back guest bedroom where P is going to do a color wash of two different color reds with a luminous undercoat. I had M paint the ceiling yellow in an eggshell finish which gives it a little shine. It is possibly the darkest room in the house and so to take on these dark colors doesn’t seem right but it’s a guest bedroom, that’s large for what it is, and so why not make it dark and cozy. Besides from the back window not a few feet away is the addition which will be painted one of the reds used on the walls. It will be a nice transition to look out the window and see red and be in red and then tip toe barefoot to the marble floors in the guest bathroom and take a shower in the ruby red stall. When you’re done you will know what it means to be near, in, surrounded by red and that perhaps is a good thing.
