I was speaking to an old source of mine in the newspaper business who I talk to about print advertising and he has taken on a new venture in his life after leaving a major metropolitan paper earlier in the year. Because his new venture is covered by my company, I put him in touch with the reporter who has been leading the research on WIMAX since it began – they spoke for two and a half hours and have had several follow up emails. When P, my source, asked J, how they could repay him for his time – J said, are you kidding, this is to thank you from R and me for all the time you have given to us in the past – life is a sharing proposition – if I could help you after you have helped Rachel then that suffices – J then sent me an email that said amongst other things:
i did this for you – personally, not as an otr thing. if this makes
your life even one tiny bit easier – that’s good enough for me. i still
think about all the BS you went through a year ago and you are a good
person – not a coworker, know what i mean?
