We live in a DIY world and the reason is that if you don’t do it yourself then you have to deal with all those people out there. You know the type – the thermometer broke on our A/C, the guy comes out, no longer has the same thermometer so now we have one that is half the size of the old one, more complicated to use and a hole in the wall where the larger one used to hang.
Appliance guy who was supposed to come fix the washing machine that keeps going off balance – scheduled for 8-12 today, no one showed up. Turns out this guy never heard of us and doesn’t fix a Fisher Paykel anyway. So I have to do the hunting for Lowe’s and find someone who they have authorized to use who actually works on the appliance that they sold me and guaranteed.
In the Do It For Me world, it’s all Pandora’s box – you call someone to fix something and they end up breaking something else. Blech.
