I was raised in humid, hot, below sea level and you know what, I’m not a mountaineer. I’m sitting here in Denver itching all over from the dry air, my heart is pumping fast and hard in the altitude, and I’m thirsty as hell.
Sorry but I prefer my fetid environment to this clean air one.
You’re in Denver (or were)! You were pretty close to us here in Salt Lake City. We live at a little over 6,000 feet and next week we’re going to Peru where we’ll be as high as 11,000-plus. I’m taking pills for altitude sickness! Here at home the only problem I have with the altitude is I can’t bake cakes worth a s**t anymore. They’re packy as all getout. Hope you hold up there for the remainder of your stay.
Still in Denver, still have a headache and heart palpitations from the altitude. But the worst is the dryness – my lips are cracked and my hair is like a wire brush! I forgot or maybe didn’t know you are in SLC – it must be beautiful there. And Peru – I have so many friends from Peru – that should be a wonderful trip. BTW I loved your reprise of what to do about being buried.
Thanks! I had fun with it.
