Peace

The message at yoga from Michelle is peace and how to find it. If you believe in Karma, it’s that you should spread peace to get peace. I believe that – I truly think that you project what comes back to you. And if you project prejudice, you see prejudice. If you project misanthropy, you get it back.

Yesterday, we let go of 14 blue balloons and one red star shaped one while we sprinkled Arlene’s ashes on the bayou, in the garden, on the grass surrounds. We celebrate that she had a good life and we enjoyed her. You can barely see the balloons in this photo rising up:

A friend was telling me about a quote in the recent NYT magazine article on the Buckleys: why do we wonder what happens after we die, when we don’t wonder what happened before we were born? A similar theme runs through the film, The Sea Inside, where Javier Bardem’s character says to Rosa the same thing.

We demand answers – but there just might not be any. Instead, we have to believe that some things are just what they are, meant to be enjoyed and let go back into the ether. In this event, Arlene’s spirit rose up to outer space by way of balloons – blue for her wonderful blue eye that always made her look startled and enchanted us.

Peace in our hearts might only come with acceptance that there are no beginnings or ends just a life time of occurrences.
