Hear that? It’s the sound of a dry mouth – desert dry – I’ve had five liters of water and still smack smack smack. How do people live here? Why aren’t they all shriveled up?
Seriously, people always come to New Orleans and moan about the humidity but seriously, it is so good for your hair and skin and no smack smack smack.
But it’s beautiful here – we took the Turquoise Trail and stopped to see a friend who built a mansion that overlooks the stunning Albuquerque landscape. Then we got to our friend’s house here in Santa Fe – perfect! More than perfect. We have a courtyard to eat our breakfast in – all private – very cozy and filled with her beautiful pottery.
Ahhh, the sounds of vacation. Now if only the emails will go through my send box, I can’t shut down my work mind.
You’re in one of my favorite places there in Santa Fe! If you have time, you might check out the Ghost Ranch up near the border of Colorado in Abiquiu where you’ll see the peaks Ansel Adams made famous and may also recognize the Georgia O’Keefe landscape. She lived there from 1949 til her death after which her ashes were scattered over the property. I’ve seen some of the amazing sunsets there. The only negative is that it’s owned by the presybyterian church, though I don’t let that prevent me from visiting whenever I get the chance.
We were just sitting here by the fire and talking about the O’Keefe museum we visited earlier today – we are headed to Taos and Chimayo on Sunday and are going to try to include Ghost Ranch. We watched a movie about her – amazing woman.
