At the KdV parade last night, we met people who had moved here from New York. The guy I was speaking with saw great potential here in New Orleans for tech start ups. Really, I said maybe the reason is that tech workers are young and don’t want to raise a family because mostly what you hear is that companies don’t want to locate here in New Orleans because the schools are so bad. He said well I moved here with my family, my wife and two year old, because I see opportunity.
Good to know.
But methinks he moved here because on February 7th, while New Yorkers wore snowsuits, he was standing on the street in short sleeves watching a man in blue culottes do the shimmy on a float, while drinking from a go cup.
