After Katrina, the dome of Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church was covered in scaffolding for a few years while they repaired and refurbished the copper cupola. This evening as I went to walk Arlene and Loca on the bayou at dusk, I noticed it was lit up and asked my neighbor if it had always been that way and I didn’t notice – they just had their 100 year anniversary and apparently it used to be lit up and now they had restored the dramatic lighting. Gorgeous. I’ll try to get a picture of it next time I’m out at that hour.
I also noticed the bayou was stirring as if a nest of snakes was underneath the entire surface, turns out the wind was blowing from one side of Moss to the other and hitting the banks and those waves were going back into the waves that were forming and it created this unusual pattern.
