Today is the first day of first quarter earning season and yes, it is up and running towards the bell time. Loca and I took a long walk this morning as we were out of bed by 5:22 sans T’s warm body lying beside me to keep me still. There was a chain of puffy grey-white clouds on the horizon making the bayou seem glassier than ever and all of the colors richer in hue. But today, I sat down in my Saarinen womb chair and picked up where I had left off reading last night – Sebald’s Austerlitz, which T gave me before her journey – I took to the narrative from the first sentence and was happy for the comfort it gave me before going to sleep last night and again, in the silence of the morning light streaming through the front windows.
