Ever since J turned 4, he’s been older. That sounds dumb, but it’s strange how marked the age is in him all of a sudden. He wasn’t allowed to watch Star Wars before and now that is all he wants to watch is The Empire Strikes Back. And he reminds me of W at that age storing up all the minutia of details in his mind and correcting me at every turn. He was chattering on like a monkey in the back of the car talking about Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader and Hans Solo. And I said, “you know Darth Vader is Luke’s father.”
“No,” he shouts, “I don’t want to hear that!”
My head whips around and looks at him. He tells me, “That’s what Luke tells Darth Vader, ‘No! I don’t want to hear that!'”
