Bayou St John is a bohemian neighborhood filled with an eclectic mix of doctors, musicians, professors, writers, artists, jewelers, business people and what have you – just a wonderful neighborhood in a wonderful city. Yesterday, when I was coming back from the ATM machine at the Can, I crossed the street instead of following the bayou home I took a side street over and ran into Evan Christopher – a talented clarinetist and friend – who has just moved back from Paris. What a wonderful addition to our neighborhood – he moved into one side of a double and was sanding and staining a piano on the front porch. It’s those moments that you know you are centered in the right place in the universe.
