Yesterday afternoon, G stopped by and as we were chatting, who walks up but Fatma bearing gifts from Turkey – the blue eye on a crystal to ward off bad luck, and a pair of Burberry chic sunglasses for me to replace the ones that dropped in the bayou on one of our regattas. So good seeing her. Then J came over and a friend of G visiting from California came by and I played the three song play list I put together for this party I’m going to on Friday – guests were asked to make a dance playlist of their three top songs and the winner gets a prize – good idea! – and so mine is Suavemente by Elvis Crespo, Valerie by Amy Winehouse (of course), and Bu Kadarmi by Emri Altug – very international and very swell – I put on my red patent leather high heels and we all danced like mad – which is a good sign that this playlist might win.
