K gave a dinner party last night and credited me with getting her back on the circuit. She had a guy fly in from Houston because he was so excited that she was “back” in action again. A good time was had by all and I didn’t get to bed till midnight, then today it was the usual multitasking from hell workday, and then Jake and then pack, and then wait, yes another dinner party. This one was in the hood and it turned out to be a lovely evening. The conversation got going and immediately had some pepper in it as the neighborhood association was skewered, then we talked about the FDA type guy in China that got beheaded, then we did a lot of the getting to know you, and after I was walked home by one of the dinner guests and we stopped in to see the work he’s done on his house and he came to see the work on mine. When he left my house, I could see my neighbors J and R lurking on their porch and I gave R the evil eye if he dared say anything when I opened the door to let this guy out.
After he was out of shouting distance R said he was just making sure I was okay – no actually he said he was making sure the guy was okay – har har har – very funny.
