The J-man and Ocho do Candy Land

When I had gone to pick him up, he was refusing a nap and in a pistol of a mood – but when we got in the car he slayed me with his uncanny observation about something I said and then he went to sleep in a second and so we sat in the air conditioned car while he napped for a half hour.

We have a small amusement park and a train in City Park that is quite wonderful. I took J in and I must say I am just not that big on being scared to death. We climbed up the slide and as I got to the top I started having my usual phobia of being up in the air and I wanted to go back down but the woman insisted sliding down was much better than walking down – so I did – and it was. But whew.

Then he wanted to go on the roller coaster, but he’s so small that I had to hold onto him really tight and hold the bar really tight and wow, roller coasters are just not my thing – as much as everyone criticizes or recognizes that I do things fast, I just don’t like to go fast – and so I was screaming for real as we went round and round.

The Scrambled Eggs ride probably was the one that I liked the most. We ended the outing on the train around City Park and it was there that I kept noticing how he would look up at me occasionally – really kind of taking me all in. He’s a doll.

When we got back to the LaLa – I told J about a drawer I started for him – where I buy cars, and chalk, and stickers and when he comes here he can have one thing. Well he was so fascinated by the drawer that he just kept taking things out and putting things back in. But what I loved was when he got on the step stool while I was pouring a glass of water and he looked through the drawers and the one that had all the stirrers just caught his attention. He wanted to know if he could come make his pudding at my house.

When L text to see if I was ready for him to go – I saw come when you want – we’re content over here.
