Willie came by today to put the space dividers in – he’s an odd duck – a New Orleans character through and through – when he put the first spacer in, it was way too short. Then the next twenty four were all not the right size. He started scratching his head and then started saying things like you need to lower all these shelves is what the problem is – I just said I don’t want to, the books fit like they are, where they are. He mumbled and grumbled and then I could see him taking it real hard. He said, wouldn’t you know this would happen to me. How could I have measured this the wrong way? And so I let it go. I told him that they would work just fine – I started lowering the shelves and said, look it’s just fine.
Everyone makes mistakes – it’s human – feet of clay. There is nothing close to perfection. Only knowing you treat others in a fair and kind way.
