New lender, new appraiser, life’s better

I am going with a local lender and feel much more optimistic then what was going down with USAA. This lender understands that I have a unique property in a unique location and that the appraisal has got to be sensitive to the fact that post storm, there just aren’t comps around here and that we need to work on this a little bit more than normal – like find the right comps and price the house in the right fashion – taking into consideration all of the nuances of living on the bayou and finishing a house with very high end finishes and a lot of custom work does not present itself as a run of the mill situation.

In the past few days, I have spoken to so many people who are willing to help – Tommy Crane (a local successful realtor), as well as my new lender, an appraiser, and others.

When I hung up this afternoon with the new lender, after getting my loan approval, she said, don’t worry – take care of your feet – and this will all work out. You easily qualify for whatever loan and now let’s see what the appraisal comes in at and we’ll go from there.

What a difference a different lender/appraiser make.
