Ike is going to be a monster!

Hurricane Ike is closing in on Texas, and stands poised to become one of the most damaging hurricanes of all time. Despite Ike’s rated Category 2 strength, the hurricane is much larger and more powerful than Category 5 Katrina or Category 5 Rita. Ike – Yikes!

We keep getting squalls from Ike that is now headed to Galveston – if this is just the fingertip of his wrath, I am sending my best and most positive wishes towards Texas right now. So far Ike has ripped one of my gutters off, and is causing white caps on the bayou, and just the howling sound makes me want to take a Xanax.

Here in the neighborhood

9/11, 3/19, 4/15, 8/29

In the last seven years, our calendar has been marked by one big event after another – terrorist attacks, Iraq war, dot.com implosion, and Katrina – I’m for not putting any more dates on the calendar – I’m for the little events like dinner with a loved one, walking my dog, loving my lover. The next big date I want to pencil in is Nov 4th when we elect Obama as our new president.
