I was listening to All Things Considered and there was a review of Magos Herrera and the writer was comparing her to Diana Krall who just recorded Brazilian tunes. He inferred and I’ve always felt that Diana Krall just lacks a certain fire inside of her. I went to see and hear for the first time Bonnie Prince Billy. A guy there described him as the Gordon Lightfoot of this generation. I liken him almost to a lesser Tom Waits as a lyricist.
