NOMA’s 100 years

I’m so happy to live on the bayou, but also near City Park, but then ALSO near the New Orleans Museum of Art and today was its 100 year anniversary that had a celebration that started yesterday at 5pm and continued into this evening. We went to hear the brass band by the NOMA Cafe and then segued to the marching band following it from the entrance of the park around the museum and back…

Jump starting the holidays

Since Tin’s school is now out for the holidays, I took the menorahs over early to do a Hanukkah lighting and story telling. A friend made the latkes for me to bring in. Tin is like a sponge, after one reading he was already calling the lead candle a shamus and talking about the menorah, but all the kids really engaged and later one of them bit her pretzel into the shape of a menorah.
