The wind chimes at City Park

On New Year’s Day we took a walkabout with our guests to City Park and I brought them under the big oak tree to listen to the wind chimes. A man was laying on a blanket not too far from us and my friend’s German mother, camera in hand with a lens as big as a telescope, went over and started speaking to him. Turns out he was the one who designed the chimes in the tree. He picked chimes whose tone mimicked African tones and New Orleans Jazz tones. Wow!

Today when Loca and Tin and I were entering the park, the street car pulled up and a dozen tourists got off. One couple were marveling at how Loca jumps up and down like she’s on a pogo stick and I asked them as we entered the park if they had ever been before and told them to go listen to the chimes.

Worth the trip!
