My friend became a mother today – legally – but the reality is she became a mother the first moment she laid eyes on her son. Or maybe she became a mother the first time she told the universe she was ready.
Mothers, regardless if they are biological or adoptive, ask the same question, how will I know I will love this child.
They know when they greet each other.
Love consists in this, that two solitudes protect and touch and greet each other.
