My great life

The past few days have spectacularly beautiful here in New Orleans – up until the arctic cold that appeared last night the weather has been perfect. The past few New Year’s Eves have not been so wonderful but this year it was magical. R built a bonfire in an old wheelbarrow and set up chairs and tables on the bayou. The night started at 5PM with drop bys and then it built and built until an entire party down the street decided to relocate to my party before midnight. At 10PM we took a box of WISHES and DISSES and brought it out to the fire and watched them burn. L convinced me to put in a picture of my IT person and I did, having first drawn a big X over it. B&K left the Quarter early to get to my house before midnight. Ten minutes before the stroke of midnight we all went out to the bayou and gathered by the fire. At midnight, I turned and kissed G, then J, then B, then K, then D, then B, then A, and L, and S, and K, and M, and E, and then R, and well it was alphabet soup and then we decided to move the party to the Quarter. At 4:30AM when I returned to my house – I felt I had rung in the New Year religiously and was ready for 2008.
