Mama said there’d be days like these

I have barely left my computer and why I am choosing to stick it out for a few more minutes to write a blog post is beyond me. Really beyond me. The water broke we heard and I packed, the water didn’t break, it was dehydration, unpack, sort of. I’ve been on pins and needles waiting to get in the truck and drive our friend to Ohio to bring home the baby that I haven’t been able to plan anything else.

Meanwhile, I got a big fat proposal out today, and had a few calls and then went out for a walk – my god almighty – it was gorgeous outside and the green market was in full swing and there were big ripe strawberries, large fat tomatoes, cukes, fresh baked bread, a taco wagon, big ass Gulf shrimp, not to mention friends and neighbors galore and I was just shaken out of my computer stupor to realize that a beautiful world was right at my fingertips.

But I had to come back to the screen – the ever present screen – and at least I was able to stand at my writing desk and look out at the bluebirds fluttering around the backyard and a monarch that kept zigging and zagging by the palm trees.

Yeah it was a full on work day but wow what a wonderful day.
