Sicko makes it abundantly clear how backasswards we are here in the good old U. S. of A.

Went to see Michael Moore’s latest on the health care industry. Now granted, I know he is prone to staging drama and sometimes having a real bias that is uncomfortable even if you share his views. I fully went knowing that he was going to talk about how sick our healthcare system is, but after watching the movie I’m just perplexed by a lot of things – if we are the great nation we think we are why then did we elect a president for two terms that spoke nothing to these major deficits:

1) Failing education system – from daycare to college graduation
2) Broken health care system – the burden of which falls mainly on the elderly and the poor
3) Poverty – why would any child go without food or clothes in America?

You have to ask yourself after watching this film – what the fuck are we doing? Why are we not marching in the streets? Why have we elected the government representatives we have?

Is it fear as he suggests? If that’s the case, what a sad, sick little cesspool we have created here.

From a film standpoint, Moore’s deft light-handed touch in this mock doc was so much more impactful than his heavy hitting, fist slamming docs of the past. Hats off to him, for calling attention to all of our festering sores.
