Sliding into home base

The week has been a mondo build up to many different things – I’ve been remiss in really being able to think about blogging, think about life, think about anything other than the cards that were being dealt to me and oh what a hand I had – good lord! Well first, I had this big Kid’s Event that was designed to be an awareness building event for the Re-Bridge project and also to teach the kids who will become the stewards for these important and historic bridges in the years to come. And then I had a few pow wow’s with a guy who sparked an idea in me and we’ve been exchanging the possibilities of following this to its natural conclusion – this is big, this is a dream for me, and this is in the works. Then I had two other people with similar possibilities throw their hats in the ring and I’m still exploring those options. Meanwhile, New York just made gay marriage legal – I got a phone call when it was almost midnight there from someone very close to me who was elated and celebrating and doing all the cheering for me, because I was in bed, getting ready to host a ton of kids on the bayou.

It’s been a busy, long week and I just have to say this about that – it’s been a good one. I am alive again, having risen from the moribund state that has had me catatonic for the past 2 years, I’m alive and my synapsis are all firing on a thousand bolts of electricity.

This is not to mention Le Petit Theatre and the rally I missed to save this landmark from becoming yet another restaurant in the French Quarter – instead, while I was busy with so many matters at hand, some brave people stood up and defied what seemed like a done deal and stopped the process. Hallelujah, I have seen the coming of the lord, because this was nothing short of a miracle.

What a week – in less than seven days, I realized what Plan B is, NY approved gay marriage, Le Petit was saved, and Re-Bridge pulled off a big awareness campaign. I just have to say, whoa. What a week!!!!
