I was listening to All Things Considered and there was a review of Magos Herrera and the writer was comparing her to Diana Krall who just recorded Brazilian tunes. He inferred and I’ve always felt that Diana Krall just lacks a certain fire inside of her. I went to see and hear for the first time Bonnie Prince Billy. A guy there described him as the Gordon Lightfoot of this generation. I liken him almost to a lesser Tom Waits as a lyricist. I called to check on mom midday and she was saying how stupid she was for falling. I told her to quit adding insult to injury, not to beat herself up for falling down. She said her physical therapist keeps telling her the same thing, not to make matters worse by saying negative things to yourself, about yourself.
