1 . I have caffeine aversion or rather let me put it bluntly, when I have caffeine people find me averse. While Tatjana was in NY she picked up another cake of premium pur uhr tea for me and so I was trying to use up the dregs of what I had left from the last cake she brought and I was overdoing my caffeine intake. This pur uhr has the most richness for being the least caffeinated of teas but even it can set me off like a rocket. So after wanting to tear the heads off of baby chicks – day three of this overdose – I finally got a clue and backed off my need to expend the old for the new.
2. Carpal tunnel, back aches, arthritis, tennis elbow and now a thumb that doesn’t move or does so with extreme pain – welcome to getting older – yee ha! I moved out of my ergonomic expensive Miro chair and onto a stability ball and now have transitioned to standing up for most of my phone calls and note taking. Of course, I’m standing up using a shelf that is too high which is creating it’s own problem with my writing but that I’m hoping Roy will fix when he builds my standing writing table. Anyway, all of these movements away from the desk and chair have greatly helped me cope with the demands of a job that require me to sit and stare at a computer for too many hours a day.
3. Think you might be wrong – this was the message on the signs that someone posted all over New Orleans over a year ago and it is worth study because we all have our own predilections and prejudices but thinking that the rest of the world needs to fall in step with our narrow view is well, narrow. So now every time I’m want to judge someone because of how they are behaving or for their weaknesses or criticize, I take a deep breath and ask myself wouldn’t it be horrible if I was perfect?
4. Toning and strengthening versus step class and biking: I had developed a fairly good routine of yoga twice a week, step class twice a week and one long bike ride a week. Then my bike riding fell off because I had to do it on weekends which became my time with family. Then the step class would be clouded on account of Tin coverage. So finally I relinquished the adherence to that schedule and opened myself up for a change – step converted to toning and strengthening, biking converted to tbd.
