We received reams of medical data on the birth mother and Tin today and basically the only take aways were that Tin was born at 1:45 PM on 3/5/09, which gives our Pisces a Cancer rising sign which means he will have nostalgia for the past. But don’t a lot of adopted children pine for what they don’t know – like what if I hadn’t been adopted then would I feel differently now. It’s always another way to assuage the dilemma of living with reality.
A friend wrote recently of the realization that her husband is addicted to Ativan and Alcohol and they are just reaching the depths of this acknowledgment – what do you write back? I said I know where you are having spent a life time around love ones with addictions – take care of yourself is my only response.
For Tin, when he grows up, he’ll have to piece it together himself – we’ll provide him love and a steadfast home and then the longings for what if will have to be satisfied by his own discoveries.
