I was listening to NPR on my way to the pharmacy to pick up more ear medicine for Tin and they were talking about Obama lifting the don’t ask, don’t tell from the military. So one guy interviewed said, “It’s a big mistake, because people are not going to trust. You are out on the battlefield and you have to trust and if this happens, no one’s going to trust.” [SAY WHAT?]
Then outside Hooters they interviewed a group of marines who said they would follow whatever the president said but then one guy whose father is gay said that he thought it was a bad idea because there would end up being another Matthew Shepard incident. [JESUS!]
I was thinking to myself, good god, if this is the mind of the military I don’t want to ask or tell. Then I thought about how these youngsters are trained to hate, to hate the enemy regardless of who they are, and then I thought if you are trained to hate, trained to hate what is different, go figure that you would hate gay or yellow or grey.
Seems like more than a don’t ask don’t tell policy review, the entire warring nation might want to just drop in and see what condition their condition is in.
Wake up everybody – stop hating, stop war, feed the people.
