I Like Them Round, I Like Them Chunky
Yesterday, after music class, Tin and I went to Saks to get my Kiehl’s night cream and he fell sound asleep on the way and so we hung out in the parking lot so that I could let him have a disco nap. He needed it, I needed it. I thought Saks offers everything else, why not a kid valet, just so I can run in and grab my cream and get out without disturbing him. But those are lofty thoughts.
When we got inside there was a 70% off sale all over Saks and so I thought I would check out to see if my panties were also on sale. While we were in the Foundations department, Tin, who was cranky before and after his nap, discovered the Stockings wall. He walked over to it mesmerized by the images of women’s stocking’ed legs. Then he just kneeled in front of the wall and look in detail at each image for about twenty minutes while I found most of the panties I was looking for – all on sale – woo hoo!
I couldn’t pull him away though and so when I went into the dressing room to try on a bra, I had to take two Hanro packages with us for him to ogle after. While I was dressing he said, “Why is this woman showing her butt?” And I tried to explain that she wasn’t showing it so much as showing whoever was buying the stockings that they were sheer all the way up. “Yes, but I see her butt clearly.” Yes, I know, but it’s not for you to stare at, it’s for someone like me who might be buying it to know what is in the package.
Later that night, while he was in bed and we were cuddling, he confessed quietly, “I can’t stop thinking about that girl’s butt.”
Shhh. Go to sleep, I said.
Sheesh. Does objectifying women start with an image or does it exist already in a male’s mind from the get go?

I see I missed some great conversations and observations by not having any boys! 😀

Oh yes – you don’t realize where some of this stuff comes from until it comes out of the mouth of babes untainted by society!!
