Last night, I went around to neighbors’ porches lining Ursuline Avenue, possibly one of the most beautiful avenues in New Orleans as the majestic oaks that line the street provide the best canopy of shade anywhere. The Faubourg St. John Neighborhood Association was staging the event as a fundraiser, but it seemed to me an excuse to visit with neighbors and try some refreshing cocktails at the same time.
But after a few hours of being out and about, a gadfly as T took Tin to a birthday party, I returned home to put him to bed. It’s amazing how a birthday party can tire a little two year old out! And how a porch crawl can make an adult want to crawl in bed beside him.
We ended the night finishing the documentary about the parrots of Telegraph Hill. Thankfully it ended on a high note, which I won’t spoil for you if you haven’t seen the film.
