It used to be a canal where the boats that came in from the Lake, into the Bayou, went down this Canal and turned on Basin Street in a big turning basin. The effort is underway to turn this strip of land into a recreational path called the <a href=\"http:\/\/folc-nola.org\/\">Lafitte Corridor<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I imagine the future where we take our bikes to the Quarter along this path &#8211; just think of the space we live in already &#8211; the bayou, City Park, and now this beautiful greenway stretching from Carrolton to the French Quarter.<\/p>\n<p>Could you think of a reason to live anywhere else?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There is a pathway that goes from Carrolton to the French Quarter.
